Diving for lobsters is one of the top ten reasons to visit Key West, and the season begins August 6. Have you ever been diving for Lobsters?. (...)

If you are in charge of planning a corporate event, you have to have a contingency plan in the event of bad weather. I have yet to attend a conference where an outdoor event is not included in the schedule. When there is no contingency planning, even a little rain can ruin what was supposed to be fun for all.
At the last Florida event I attended, there was a big closing party planned on the last day. The hotel is on the beach and and so there was a large patio on the beach side of the hotel. Naturally, just about the time everything was set up, a big thunderstorm decided to attend too. Fortunately the Florida event management company was able to quickly move the entire event into a large banquet room they had set aside “just in case”. Those “just in case” moments can be a real disaster unless there is plenty of preplanning.

When scheduling an event that is out of town, one thing people often forget to take into consideration is the weather. I will never forget the time I attended an important business conference in Chicago in January. It was a miserable trip all around because of the weather. The plan was late landing, the traffic was backed up because of slippery roads, and no one could tour the city because of the bad weather. One of the key speakers never did arrive through no fault of his own.
Hotels have a lot of perks they don’t let the general public know about. For example, if you know what to ask for you can get things like reduced hotel and conference parking fees and free unlimited internet service. These amenities can be important when planning a corporate event where a lot of people from all over the country will be attending.
In fact, a Florida event management company that is familiar with available hotel perks can get your company or group a list of perks. You can get special hospitality suites, discounted visits to the hotel spa, free airport shuttles and even late checkout times for participants with late flights out.
These are just a few of the amenities a professional Florida event planning team can get for you. There are plenty of others, but it is much easier for expert planners to get these perks than it is for an individual calling from some distant corporate office. (...)

One of the most important considerations to keep in mind when Florida event planning is the fact that Florida is a popular and busy area. I will never forget the time I was on the committee for developing a trade show event. We had to pick the dates for the show which was one of the most important responsibilities of the committee. For example, there was the time I had 500 people coming to a business conference and one of the food vendors didn’t show up. That was a real surprise I could have easily lived without. (...)
