If you are in charge of planning a corporate event, you have to have a contingency plan in the event of bad weather. I have yet to attend a conference where an outdoor event is not included in the schedule. When there is no contingency planning, even a little rain can ruin what was supposed to be fun for all.
At the last Florida event I attended, there was a big closing party planned on the last day. The hotel is on the beach and and so there was a large patio on the beach side of the hotel. Naturally, just about the time everything was set up, a big thunderstorm decided to attend too. Fortunately the Florida event management company was able to quickly move the entire event into a large banquet room they had set aside “just in case”. Those “just in case” moments can be a real disaster unless there is plenty of preplanning.
